The Ministry of Discipleship
The Ministry of Discipleship was formerly called the Ministry of Missions. This ministry has local, national and international outreach. Its participants include every member of the church - all ages.
American Baptist Men
includes all men in the church and is divided into the four gospels for service Outreach activities and personal Christian commitment and development. The four (4) groups are Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
American Baptist Women
includes all women in the church and focuses on uniting women into one fellow-ship in personal devotion to Christ and outreach service to others. The group is organized under an executive board and nine (9) circles. With the exception of the Matrons Circle, the circles are named in honor of women who distinguished themselves through commitment to service and leadership. The nine circles are as follows: Cresa Lenox Circle Ham's-Dawley Circle Helen Kincaide Circle Eliza Wilson Circle Esther Q. Smith Circle Jennie Stokes Circle Maggie Moore Clark Circle Matrons Circle Jones-Work Circle
Youth and Children are organized as two separate areas of the church to meet the needs of the children. Each has its directors and officers and activities which are appropriate for the ages served. The primary objective is to promote involvement of the youth and the children in the total church program.
Fellowship of Single Adults
includes members, 18 years of age and older, who are single for any reason - by choice, divorce, widowed, etc. Its aim is to provide an alternative to the feeling of loneliness and the notion that no one cares. As a fellowship, its concern is to embrace and enhance the total life of the single adult.
Family and Singles Enrichment
group includes the Young Adult Fellowship and the Fellowship of Retirees. Various types of activities are designed for one's enrichment, personal, spiritual, physical and social growth.
The Young Adult Fellowship
includes members who are 18-35 years of age who are active in many church and community-related activities and events.
Fellowship of Retirees consists of members who are retired and actively involved in a variety of activities for fun and fellowship.
Recreation Committee plans recreational and fellowship activities for the church membership.
